Comedy 'Breakaway' In Canadian Theatres on Sept. 30

What happens Bollywood meets the biggest icon of Canadian culture, that is hockey? Find it out on September 30 when the comedy Breakaway hits Canadian theatres.

As seen in the trailer, the film takes place in a suburb of Toronto in a Punjabi family. Rajveer Singh (Vinay Virmani) dreams to be a hockey star and he plays in an amateur team made of Canadians of Punjabi heritage. Rajveer even tries to convince a white man (Rob Lowe) to coach his team.

However, things are complicated for Rajveer. His father (Anupam Kher) doesn't want his son to play hockey. Moreover, Rajveer is in love with his coach's sister, Melissa (Camilla Belle). Unfortunately, Melissa isn't necessarily attracted by hockey players.

The film also stars Canadian comedian Russell Peters, Noureen DeWulf, Akshay Kumar, Guggi, Sakina Jaffrey, Al Mukadam, Pamela Sinha, Ludacris and Lee Rumohr.

We'll see if this film gets better reviews than Score: A Hockey Musical, another Canadian comedy centred on hockey that came out last year.
