M6, a French TV network, announced that it has acquired the broadcasting rights for the Canadian procedural series King. No premiere date has been announced yet.
The TV series is about Jessica King (Amy Price-Francis), a detective of the Toronto police. When the head (Alan Van Sprang) of the major crime task force has a break down on national TV, King is called in to replace him. Moreover, Jessica King also tries to cope with her third marriage with a police constable (Gabriel Hogan).
The series also stars Tony Nardi, Aaron Poole, Zoe Doyle and Suzanne Coy.
Besides M6, the series King has also been licensed to Séries+, a French-speaking cable network from Quebec.
Moreover, the show has been renewed for a second season by Showcase, the Canadian cable network that airs King.
