Global's 'Hot Zone' Begins Production

Global, a Canadian TV network, announced yesterday that production on its new dramatic series Hot Zone (formerly known as Combat Zone) has begun. This will be done in Toronto until July 2011.

This medical drama takes place in 2006 in a military hospital in Southern Afghanistan. We follow the life of doctors, surgeons and nurses from Canada, the USA, the UK and other allied countries.

Global also revealed the identity of the show's ensemble cast. We will see Elias Koteas (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as Colonel Marks; Michelle Borth (Hawaii Five-0) as Canadian surgeon Dr. Rebecca Gordon; Luke Mably (The Gates) as neurosurgeon Dr. Simon Hill; Deborah Kara Unger (The Hurricane) as Australian army psychiatrist Major Ada Pedersen; Terry Chen (Sanctuary) as trauma team leader Captain Bobby Trang; and Arnold Pinnock (The Listener) as Commander Will Royal, Chief of Nursing.

Moreover, a premiere date will be announced eventually and this Canadian TV series will be broadcasted in the USA on the TV network ABC.
