The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) announced today that actor William Shatner ($#*! My Dad Says, Star Trek) will host the ceremony of the Genie Awards, Canada's Oscars, on March 10.
“I’m so looking forward to coming to Canada as the host of the 31st Annual Genie Awards and seeing a lot of my old friends,” said Shatner. “Unfortunately, most of them are dead of old age.” While other guests have yet to be prensented, the organizers of the ceremony promises a star-studded cast of presentators.
Moreover, seven years after it dropped the Genie Awards, CBC, a Canadian TV network, will live-broadcast the ceremony.
