Victoria and Jennifer Westcott, two sisters and filmmakers from Victoria (BC), will begin production on their first independent feature film in April, which is called Locked In a Garage Band.
However, before the beginning of their project, the Westcott sisters are trying to "crowdfund" their film on Kickstarter, an online platform for independent producers who seek fundings.
So far, the two sisters have got $2,400, which is 12% of the required $20,000 that is needed by March 4 to get funds from Kickstarter.
Their film tells the story of a high school rock band which gets locked up by accident in a garage for a whole day. Besides, the members of this band are on the verge of a break up.
The members of this rock band will be played by Ella Simon, Luke Jennings and Duncan Polson.
Finally, for your information, Victoria Westcott mentions that Locked in a Garage Band, which was written and will be directed by her sister Jennifer, is close to teen films from the 1980s like The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Can't Buy Me.
