Rumours has it that Warner Bros., an American major production studio, is preparing another film based on the cult fighting video game Mortal Kombat.
In fact, a short film called Mortal Kombat: Rebirth has been released online. According to George Roush, a folk over at LatinoReview.com, this short is a test video shot for Warner Bros.
Thus, the test video, which was directed by Kevin Tancharoen, is under review at Warner Bros. before the film project for Mortal Kombat: Rebirth gets any funding. Besides, unlike the previous Mortal Kombat films (i.e. Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation), Mortal Kombat: Rebirth is likely to be as gory as the video games it's based on.
See it for yourself.
Finally, here are the actors appearing in this short:
* Jacks is played by Michael Jai White.
* Sonya Blade is played by Jeri Ryan.
* Baraka is played by Lateef Crowder.
* Scorpion is played by Ian Anthony Dale.
* Johnny Cage is played by up and coming martial artist Matt Mullins.
* As for Reptile, it appears that nobody knows who plays him.
* The fight scene was choreographed by Larnell Stovall. It looks like Donnie Yen, Yuen Woo-Ping, Corey Yuen, Ching Siu-Tung and Sammo Hung - who I consider as great fight choreographers - have some competition!
