The story takes place in the 19th century in rural Canada. Two sisters - Maggie (Sara Canning) and Rose McGregor (Ferron Guerreiro) live alone in a log cabin. One day, they come across a man, David Latouche (Mathieu Bourguet), who proposes to stay in their cabin and protect them.
