According to the folks at The Futon Critic, the Canadian TV series Flashpoint will return on CBS, an American TV network, on June 4 at 9 PM (8 central). This means that CBS will air the remainder of Flashpoint's second season, which hasn't been seen by Americans for now.
In the first episode called One Wrong Move, the Strategic Response Unit (SRU) is called in because a bomb exploded in downtown Toronto. However, the team discovers that it's the first in a wave of bombings by a mysterious eco-terrorist organization. Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), Sam Braddock (David Paetkau) and Kevin "Wordy" Woodsworth (Michael Cram) must hunt down the terrorists, while bomb defusing experts Spike Scarlatti (Sergio Di Zio) and Lou Young (Mark Taylor) must defuse two bombs simultaneously at the University of Toronto. However, a member of the SRU's team will not see the end of the day...
The show also star Amy Jo Johnson and Enrico Colantoni.
While the episodes CBS will air are considered as being part of the second season in Canada, CBS considers them as being part of the third season.
So far, CTV, a Canadian TV network, hasn't officially announced the renewal of Flashpoint for a third season. However, The Cultural Post revealed in April that the show's third season has been in production since January 13, 2010. Besides, its production should be over on May 28.
Finally, to the American fans of Flashpoint enjoy what we, in Canada, have already seen!
