The trailer of Dinner for Schmucks, the Hollywood remake of the French acclaimed comedy Le dîner de cons, has made its way online. Moreover, the latest film from director Jay Roach (Meet the Parents) is slated to be released on July 23 in North America.
The story follows Tim (Paul Rudd), a guy on the verge of having it all. The only thing standing between him and total career success is finding the perfect guest to bring to his boss' (Bruce Greenwood) annual Dinner for Extraordinary People, an event where the winner of the evening brings the most eccentric character as his guest. Enter Barry (Steve Carell), a guy with a passion for dressing mice up in tiny outfits to recreate great works of art.
Moreover, the film also stars Stephanie Szostak, as Julie (Tim's girlfriend), Ron Livingston, Zach Galifianakis, Lucy Punch, David Walliams, Jeff Dunham, Lucy Davenport and Randall Park just to name a few.
The major difference between the American remake and the original French version: the leading character actually makes it to the dinner.
My review of the original French version: Here.
