'Southland' Renewed for Third Season by TNT

TNT, an American cable network, announced today that it will renew Southland, a police drama, for a third season. This means that ten episodes were ordered. Besides, the third season of this show created by Ann Biderman (NYPD Blue, Public Enemies) will be aired in January 2011.

For those who don't know (this includes me), Southland is centred on police constables (or "officers" in case you didn't understand), detectives and members of a gang unit from Los Angeles. Besides, the show documents the life of these workers of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on and off the job.

The ensemble cast includes Kevin Alejandro (Ugly Betty); Arija Bareikis (Crossing Jordan); Clifton Collins Jr. (Star Trek); Michael Cudlitz (Band of Brothers); Shawn Hatosy (Alpha Dog); Regina King (Ray); Michael McGrady (The Thin Red Line); Ben McKenzie (The O.C.); and Tom Everett Scott (Boiler Room).

Finally, here's the teaser of the second season.
