Readers from Canada and Great Britain, The Cultural Post received a press release from Shaftesbury Films, a Canadian production company. Indeed, it announced that CityTV, a Canadian cable network, renewed Murdoch Mysteries for a fourth season.
This TV series is based on the detective novels of Maureen Jennings and is set in Toronto in 1895. It follows Det. William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson). This young man uses forensic techniques - that were new at that time - to solve murders. Needless to say that his boss, Inspector Thomas Brackenreid (Thomas Craig), is sceptical about Murdoch's approach, but Murdoch is often the only one who can crack the case. Moreover, Murdoch has people standing behind him. Dr. Julia Ogden (Hélène Joy), a young pathologist, shares the detective's fascination with forensic science and Constable George Crabtree (Jonny Harris), a young inexperienced policeman.
The fourth season of the show will begin later this year. Moreover, Alibi, a crime-oriented channel of the British cable network UKTV, will broadcast Murdoch Mysteries's fourth season in Great Britain.
