Showtime, an American premium cable network, announced it picked up Web Therapy, a web series created by Lisa Kudrow (Friends). Besides, the show will be aired on Showtime in 2011 and ten half-hour episodes were ordered.
The web series, which went through a third season, is centred on Fiona Wallice (Lisa Kudrow), a self-professed psychotherapist who clearly doesn't have training. While professionals have a session of at most fifty minutes with their clients, Fiona would rather have a session that lasts three minutes and via web cam. However, she doesn't notice that her sessions are way too brief to ever make any progress in her clients' life.
Speaking about the actors who will play the clients, it was announced that Jane Lynch (Glee), Rashida Jones (The Office), and Courteney Cox (Cougar Town), among others, will be cast. Moreover, we should also expect to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine), Michael McDonald (Mad TV) and veteran star Bob Balaban (For Your Consideration).
Finally, here's the first webisode of Web Therapy's first season.
